MISS FRANCES HOLMES Who is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank H. Holmes of Rocky Hill avenue, is a student at Penn Hall and expects to enter Wellesley college in September. i Social Activities About Town There are any number of gay events scheduled for nextf week, weddings, a garden party and the Yale-Harvard regatta to say nothing of the many small and intimate affairs which are among the most enjoyable social functions of the ea: summer season. Brides, naturally, are notable figures and wlien one realizes that three important weddings will occur next week—well, it goes without saying that a brilliant time is ahead. Society folk are eagerly looking forward to the regatta on the Thames at New London next Friday. Coming at the end of the reunion patties it is always a joyous affair and everyone who can manage it is there. As usual, many luncheon parties precede the event, both en route to New London—the parties, motoring down in time for the race—and at the Griswold Hotel | which seems to be the site of activity on this momentous day.. The occasion is indeed one of much revelry and gaiety, the river itself a gay scene with its countless boats of every size and | color cruising up and down. | Pleasant things are heard concerning the Garden Party | and dance which is to be held at the Shuttle Meadow club on Saturday, June 25. As the name indicates, this is going to be a gorgeously colorful party. Ballroom, dining room and! terrace will be flaming with decorations of brilliantly colored ! Japanese lanterns, while great quantities of spring flowers will | add their vivid colorings. Philmore Ohman and Victor Arden | with “their nine piece orchestra are to play, with a special | concert' from 9 to 9:30 followed by dancing until 2:00 o'clock.
