RAIN WETS DOWN MARBLE SHOOTERS Forces Postponement of Games at Smith School Rain again caused the postpone- ment of games yesterday afternoon in the “Herald-Junior Achievement’ marble shooting tournament. The referee just arrived at the Levi O. Smith school where the games were to be played when a heavy shower drove everyone to shelter and soaked the playing fleld. Since-games have already been sqheduled for the Valentine B. Chamberlain school this afternoon and at the Roosevelt school tomor- row night the postponed games at the Smith school wWill probably be played at 3:30 o'clock Friday after- noon. If it can possibly be ar- ranged it is hoped to play at the Smalley school this week and we will soon have news concerning the pro- gress of Dominic Cartelll, the 1926 champion, who was a pupil at the Smalley school. Did you ever see a jelly fish? An angel fish? A sea horse? If vou would like to view these strange creatures of the ocean come along with the Herald marble editor to Atlantic City next June. He will take you to the Million Dollar Pier where two hauls of salt water sea life are made each day and are ex- plained by Captain Young, the famous mariner. This millionaire sea captain loves boys and he never tires of telling the marble champions about the little known wonders of the deep with which he is familiar. He is a romantic figure. His home s In an exquisite chalet built of terra-cotta and perched amid a little garden at the extreme end of the pier. About this garden stand groups of beautiful statuary Which the captain has garnered in his voyages around the world. Within the enclosure 1s the mam- moth aquarium where the freakish angel fish, dog fish and other marine creatures swim about. The myriad of colored lights which gleam above, transform the million dollar pler into a beauteous picture torn from some forgotten book from fairyland, It is you to whom this opportu- nity of g lifetime beckons. If you want to know the millionaire seca captain as a friend, if you wish to sce the strange sea life that you have read about in school, if you wish to drink in the salt tang of the air, a quarter mile from land on this immense pier, there is just one way to make your dreams come true. Enter today in the Herald-Junior achievement marble tournament. The New Britain champion is going.
