George 8. Kaufman, who first made himself famous by col- laborating with Marc Connelly in “Dulcy,” “Merton of the Movies,” “The Beggar on Horseback,” and other dramatic hits, wrote this comedy Of the theater “angel” and the Broadway sharpers. “It's the story of a shy yet daring youth from Chillicothe who beats the quack producers at their own game—and for good measure takes their sec- retary away with him as his bride. The play ran all last season in New York. PARSONS'S, HARTFORD All roads tonight will lead to Par- sons’s theater, where Frederick Lonsdale’s latest comedy, “On Ap- proval,” makes its initial bow to local playgoers. Produced by Charles Dillingham at the Galety theater, New York, early last fall, “On Ap- proval” immediately stepped into line with the earlier Lonsdale ‘tomedies, “Aren’t We All?"” “Spring Cleaning” and “The Last of Mrs. Cheyney.” Interpreted by an ex- ceptionally talented cast of interna- tional favorites, it is safe to pro- phesy that “On Approval” will prove as amusing to playgoers in this city as it has already done in Foston, Chicago, New York, Phila- delphia and other large cities. Wherever the play has been pre- mented it has been pronounced *‘the perfect comedy perfectly acted.” It comes direct from the Gafety thea- ter, New York, with Wallace Ed- dinger, Violet Kemble Cooper., Vera Neilson and Hugh Wakefield in the cast. Playgoers who appreciate fine ecting should not fall to see this latest comedy. Curtain tonight at 8:15. They are now arranging an offer of $60,000,000 of five per cent bonds, to retire the oustanding eight per cent bonds and prior preference stock of the company. 4—aAll voting trusts will be ter- | minated.
