Newspaper Sues Rival For an Alleged Libel Memphis, Tenn., April 15.—(UP) —The Memphis Press-Scimitar, pps-Howard newspaper, has suit for £1,00°.000 against th Memphis Commereial Appeal, which recently published an advertisement | declaring a circulation statement of he Press-Scimitar was untrue, The Commercial Appeal, accord- ing to the suit, not only asserted claim of 92,562 paid circulation that the circulation probably was not more than 73,000. Management of the Press-Scimi- tar explained that 73,000 represent- ed the run from the presses in the main Press-Scimitar plant, but that the presses in the plant of the Memphis Press, recently absorbed in & consolidation, printed an addi- tional number of papers which brought the total circulation even higher than the 93,562 claimed.
