Grikis, pastor of St. Andrew’s Lithuanian church, in his annual report read at all the masses yesterday, advocated the ercc- tion of a parochial school for the children of the parish and a reduc- tion in the number of “mixed” mar- riages. Father Grikis pointed to the rap- idly increasing Lithuanian popula- tion in the city and suggested that with @ parochial school in the par- ish to which the Lithuanian-children could be sent, young men and wom- en would recelve the proper train- ing for the Catholic priesthood and sisterhood. In his financial report, Father Grikis stated that it had been found necessary to increase the amount of pew rent from 10 to 15 cents. The annual assessment of the parish from now on for the year will be $10 and for each working member of the family other than the family heads 35. The total revenue received in the church during 1926 was $12,125.45. Total disbursements amounted’ to $9,519.77. A total of $2,308.63 was paid off on the parish debt and the amount on hand is $296.05. The spiritual report showed that 45 baptisms had been performed; 24 marriages had been carried through and 23 deaths had occurred. Of the marriages, 20 were between Catho- lic parties; three were “mixed” and one was revalidated. The census of 76 CHILDREN DIE INTHEATER FIRE (Continued from First Page) PUTNAM & CO.
