Speaking of Sports Attention Paddy O'Connor, man- ager of the Hartford Eastern league baseball team! The following ac- count of a double-header between ‘Wi)llamsport and Scranton of the New York-Penn league Is taken from & Wiillamsport paper of the other day. In the first game played between Willlameport and Scranton which Willlamsport won 12 to 2, Wojak, who s playlng at shortstop for the Willtamsport club, was officially four times at bat; he scored four runs and got three hits. He had one put- out and one assist In the field. 1In the second game, he was at bat three times, acored two runs and got two hits, He had three putouts and three assists in the field. He also figured in one double play during the second game, Here's some of the nice things the aporta edivor of the paper had to say about him: “Wojak had three out of four hits at bat.” “Willlamsporters who witnessed the game at Fimira Sunday eald ‘Wojak made one of the most spec- tacular plays ever seen on Dunn fisld. With two on base and two out, he raced over back of third, knocked down a hit and tossed the batter ont at first, Tt is sald this undoubtedly saved the game for| TWilltamsport.” | “In the third inning of the second game, Wojak dropped Bedford's fiy. but by a quick toss to Killinger flagged Bedford at second base.” That's tough plaving for a man| who wasn't in the Eastern league class and not fast enough to play on the Hartford team, It onlv goes to prove that when he gets a chance at his regular position, he can plaf baseball with the best of them. { He was not the Kaplan that tore Panny Kramer to ribbons in Madison fquare Garden last January and hc‘ wae not the fighter that he is re-| puted to be. His showing last night | was very poor. Now that the Kaplan-Herman fight is over, the next big event for the 1acal sport fans is the Cerbin Red Sox-Faleon baseball game af 8t Mary's field. This will be the gecond game of the elimination serizs to de | termine which team will play the Kensington team for the city cham pienship.
