- WILL DEFY UNION Strike Expected at Marray, Holmes and Towers Plants Three more Kerlin brick compan- fes today decided against signing an! agresment to recognize the National sy Workers' Union and it is prob- able that the men will be called out from those three plants tomorrow morning, according to information secured from the offices of the Holmes Brick Co. The firms involved are the Murray Brick Co, the Tow- ers Brick Co. and the Holmes Brick Coit It 18 not known just how many men will go on strike at these yards, as the employers are not sure as fo the number who are union workers. It was stated at the Murray Br Co. that no definite information as to the plans of the union has been sccured, although the leaders have been among the men (or soveral days, It was said that it is the desire | of the firm to keep ‘“open shop'" at that yard, No {nformation of any sort could be elicited at the Towers Brick Co., Reginald Towers, head of the con- | cern, stating that he was not in a position to spealk this afternoon.
