GOLF ASSOCIATION GETS UNDER WAY Public Links in North End Wilt Be Ready Soon An enthuslatic meeting of golfers and near golfors was held last eve- ning at the Stanley Quarter school at which time the New Britaln Golf Association was formed, The meeting was called to order at 8:15. Dr. 8 Delano was elected temporary chairman and Arthur B. Berg was appointed temporary sec- retary and chairman of the publicity committee, A membership committees consist- fng of Messrs. J. Grobsteln, F. Crandall, A, Gorback, James Hallor- an, 8. Wellens, W, Eddy, A. E. Berg, and the Misses N, Guenther and G. House was appointed. An active campaign for members and for the support of the public 18 to be launched at once, The associetion has a nine hole course, located in Stanley Quarter, Wwhich has been pronounced by some of the local golfers as being ideal. Neither time nor expense has been spared in putting the grounds in shape and the links will be opened for use in the course of a week or 10 days, The object of the organization Is to make golf possible for the gener- al public and all who are in any way interested, are invited to become af- fillated with the assoclation. FIREMAN PINNED BENEATH *OVERTURNED AUTOMOBILE Harry Parsons Hurt When Ldeuf. Kuhs' Machine Flipflops as Latter Avolds Dog. An automobile driven by ILieut. Carl Kuhs of the fire department | was overturned yesterday afternoon on Burritt street when the fireman swing the machine sharply around to avoid striking a dog that had run into the street directly in the path of the machine. Henry Parsons, an- other fireman, was riding with Kuhs and he was pinned underneath the car. Both men escaped serious in- jury but Parsong, who received a deep gash on his head, was unable to report for duty last nighty The police were notified of the accident and the patrol was sent to the scene.
