I 1 COMHONS REFUSES VOTE OF CENSURE Elfort fo Chastise Speaker 1 Whitley Fails London, May 28 (AF)—The héuse {of commonn by a vote of 306 to 27 today rejected & liberal motion for a vote of censure of the speaker, the Right Hon, John Henry Whitley. The motion to censure the spenk- ler, a very unusual proposal in the house of commons, had additional rarity from the fact that it was made by the liberal party, of which the speaker himself is a member! The expressed grievance of liberal party against the speaker {hat “contrary to recent preced he granted a closure of the day’s debate during the second read- ing of the finance bill, thereby pr venting the liberads from making sirong a case in tie debate as the desired.
