Acting upon complaint of the In- diana chamber of commerce and other trade organizations, the com- mission found that petroleum re- ceivers in Illinois and Towa had been given rates much lower than those maintained to Indiana. In making new schedules railroads | were instructed to fix rates on gaso- line from Tulsa at 42 hundred pounds when shipped to Indiana citles lying west of the Pennsylvania line, which runs from Crown Point to Logansport. McDonough appeared for Karan and a continuance to Monday was granted. ‘ Arrested Twice in Few Hours Arrested twice within a few hours last night, Anthony Kurdak was ar- ralgned before the court on charges of breach of the peace and on two counts of violating the liquor lawe, Durdak conducts a poolroom at 36 Hartford avenue and late yesterday afternoon he was arrested with Walter Kysoski after Patrolman Charles Johnson broke up a fight between the two men. Kurdak furnished bonds for his release on reaching the station and went back to his poolroom, only to be honored shortly after by a visit by Police- man Thpmas J, Feeney and Patrol- mal George Collins, who dropped in to look for liquor. The search re- sulted in the seizure of a quantity of alleged beer and several bottles containing liquor. Kurdak was ar- rested again. f Judge Willlam F, Mangan appear- ed for the defendant and the case was continued until Tuesday at the request of Prosecutor Joseph G. Woods, who told the court it was necessary to have the seized beer analyzed. Cases against Joseph Rysko, charged with operating a motor vehicle while his license was under suspension, and Brozie Martin, charged with breach of the peace and carrylng concealed weapons, were continued until Monday. Moore, Holman Case Nolled The case against James Holman of Unionville whose car struck nine- year-old Mary Cattucel on Main sireet near the post office about two weeks ago causing injuries which resulted in her death, was nolled by Prosecuting Attorney James T. Mather in the police station this morning. After a thorough investi- gation and review of the case, it was found that Holman was in no way to blame for the accident, inasmuch as the little girl ran out in front of him from behind a parked car.
