PROF. JOHNSON T0 MAKE YALE AWARDS Will Assist in Selecting Best Essays in Prize Contest New Haven, March 14.—Announce- Treat 13. Johnson, chairman department of ment was made today by Prof, organic chemistry, of Yale university, of the state committee which will as- sist in making awards of scholarships in the prize Essay contests to “bring about a better understanding of chem- istry in the minds of laymen of the country.” The scholarships have been donated by various universities in the Ameri- can Chemical society's prize es: contest, in addition to the six fo year tuition scholarships to Yale uni- versity and Vassar college given by Mr. and Mrs. Francis P. Garvin of New York. Over a million hoys and girls are expected to enter the contest.
