HIDS OF VILLAGE SETTLE OWN FEUDS Grudges Are Appeased in Club House at 27 Barrow Street New York, Jan 11.—No longer do the kids of Greenwich Village resort fo street fights to settle their dis- putes, for the Greenwich House, 27 Barrow street, in the section which developed Gene Tunney, light-heavy- weight champion, has {instituted a new kind of settlement work which promises a successful future, Recently under the direction of Barney Hymen, physical director of the settlement, a boxing show was held at which youngsters ranging from seven to 15 years of age set. tled their street feuds in a 16 foot ring. All ring equipment wused in regular bouts, including padded gloves, .towels, trainers, judges, tights, timekespers and the gong were on hand Barney Hymen acted as third man in the ring after several youngsters had diplomatically de¢lined that honor. Prague Jan. 11-—A story of missing bonds, a mysterions Herb who paid $40,000 for a' suit of clothes, and a Wisconsin farmer who should be | grateful to a distant brother-in-law, | has come to light in the records of the local police headquarters. ; A little more than three years ago a package of bonds, valuad at $100,- 000 and addressed to a bank in Chi- cago, was mailed in Omaha. It never reached its destination, and Investiga- | tion showed that the package had ’ been sent erroneously to Rossice, in! Czechoslovakia.
