Mr, Turnbull has llved in New Britain 70 years coming here when 21 years of age from Tariftville where he lived after emigrating from Seotland, He was employed by O, B, North in the manufactwre of saddlery hard- ware and later entered the employ of Frary & Ceary, the forerunners of the Landers, Frary & Glark plant While working for this concern he invented the Turnbull stationery scale, which was one of the first on the market, Mr. Turnbull resides with his daughter-in-law, Mrs. James Turn. bull. He is extremely active and makes several trips a day up town to visit his friends, Frederick V. Streeter Is Eighty Years Old Today Frederick V. Streeter of 81 Dwight street {s celebrating his 80th birthday today, Mr. Streeter is one of the most prominent of the Civil war veterans of the city, and has always taken part in the Grand Army work. He is well known to the school chil- dren of the city because of the many interesting stories he has told them of the Civil war. Mr. Streeter was born in Vernon, Vt., where he spent the early years of his life. He {s still very active and is enjoying the best of health, For years he was one of the leading flgures of the Stanley Post, G. A. R, and was only lately appointed honorary chairman of the memorial Day committee, on which he did his part. Mr. Streeter is re- celving many congratulatory messages on attaining the four-score mark.
