YALE FRESHMEN IN RIOT OVER FOOD AT COMMONS Throw Bread Around, Smash Crockery and Shout in Half-Hour Demonstration New Haven, March 13.—Yale fresh- men last night abandoned their letter- writing eampaign against compulsory eating at the Commons and staged a half-hour demonstration in their din- ing hall, in which bread was hurled about. Much crockery was smashed and one table was dumped uncere- moniously into a corner. About 500 members of the class added their voices to the uproar. Authorities at the Commons took no action, but waited until the demonstraton came to an end, In the course of the riot a sign was hoisted on which a skull and bones had been drawn, while underneath {Commander John Carlson Agnes Mack of Charlestown, Mass., didn’t believe specialists when they told her that her eyesight, lost in a high dive into a swimming tank, would never be regained.
