M. Paonessa said this morning in a discussion of the trolley situation. Under the old rule the trolley com- pany was required to pave from a point 18 inches outside the left rail to a point 18 inches beyond the right rail, Under the new law paving of but eight inches on each side of each rafl is required and the pavement be- tween the rails {s put down at the city's expense. On the last three jobs the amounts actually paid by the company ,to- gether with the amounts that would have been paid under the old law are: South Main street, $873.21, $2,- 019.17; Dwight street, $1,616.92, § 120.2 ark street, $662.66, $1,687.95.
