Gera- NEW l{hll/\”\ RAY ONPROBLEMS OF NANUFAGTURERS State Industrial Leaders Will Discuss Timely Subjects The annual meeting of the Manu- facturers' assoclation of Connecticut will be held Tuesday, December 19, at the Hotel Taft, New Haven. From the replles recelved at assoclation headquarters it Is evident that this is to be the. largest gathering of manufacturers ever held in the State of. Connecticut, Kach individual con- cern has been asked to send 4t least thre representatives and a large num- ber have complied with that request. Contrary ,to the accepted practice, the Btate Assoclation is not planning | affair, Through its efforts the manufactur- ers of the state have been welded together., They do know each other and are working steadily toward a coordinated Connecticut idea which has meant nwuch to development of the state. The plan this year is to make the Annual Meeting a clearing house of information for all manu- facturers in the state and to gnable them to present for solution individual problems of finance, employment, trdftic, production, distribution, heat- ing, lighting, ventilating, etc. Group Meetings in Morning Proceding the business session, sev- eral of the committees of the Associa- tion will meet in separate rooms and as_gpecialists in their various fields will undertake to answer specific ques- tions. The traffic committee meeting, composed of some of the most ex- preienced traffic experts in the state, will be presided over by Chairman R. L. French, traffic manager of the Columbia Graphophone., Mfg. Co., .of Bridgeport. The commitee will dis- cuss the results of its activities during the present embargo period. It will famulate plans for the betterment of railroad and water transportation service during the coming year. It will offer its advice and counsel to any member concerning any problem of traffic with which he is confront. ed. Railroad Consolidation E. O. Goss, president of the Scovill Mtg. Co. of Waterbury and a member of the Connecticut commission on railroad comnsolidation, ‘will ~address the traffiic group on the problem of railroad consolidation as it affects | New England. This question of con- solidation is ome of the most im- portant which confronts New England at the present time. The transporta- tion act of 1920 made proyisions for consolidation and the Interstate Com- merce Commission is mow holding hearings in the various sections of the country to bring this about.
