Hart was in- regular monthly meeting last evening at police headquarters, to investigate | the advisability of purchasing a ('mn-} era for the police department with| which finger prints may be photo- graphed for use as possible evidence in court cases, and for other pur- poses. The chief said that he already had a camera which had been secured ‘on approval from ,the Dickinson Drug Co. The camera was on displdy be- fore the members of ‘the board and pictures of fingerprints which ha.d| been spapped with the maching were also shown. The board members did not see fit to order the purchase of the camera the chief had unless there is none better to be found. It is not expected that the cost would be over $100 and Chief Hart said that he be- lieved it is something' the local police department needed, Chairman David L. Dunn presided at the meeting. Commissioners Thomas F. Jackson, Edwin A. Par- ker, William Lange, Clerk Joseph McGrail and Chief Hart were in at- tendance. ! Resigns For a Year. Clerk McGrail read the resignation of Supernumerary Michael Nezdrysa for a period of one year. The resig- nation stated .that the. officer —was)| starting’ in business and he wanted to have ‘a chance to save 'some of the money He invested but he may wantto come back after a year's timé ‘and for that rcason he wants his resignation effective but for one year. Chairman Dunn said that he did not believe ‘that the officer meant tion. He felt that he would ratner grant the man a year's leave of uh-} sénce. Commissioner Parker moved | that the resignation be referred back to the officer so that he may state more definitely what he wants. Police Suggest Charter Changes. Patrol Driver Herbert C. Lyon and Patrolmen Charles Johnson and Wil- liam O'Mara of. the- patrolmen’s com- mittee on .proposed charter changes appeared before the board to urge the | recommendation of charter changes| favored by the members of the police| department.
