Isaac North was appointed collector in the place of Jedidiah North, who “refused to serve,” “A. meeting of the. inhabitants of Worthington Parish on the 4th day of October, 1773, holden by adjournment at ye house of Joseph Galpin. | “As the Same Meeting it was Voted that Ensn Isaac North be a collector (in the room & stead of Jedidiah North, who refuses to serve) to col- lect and pay into the treas. the ¥six penny Rate granted at a ‘meeting on ye 23rd day of Dec. 1772 for building ye meeting House or of that part of the Society lying in the bounds of Wethersfield afid in Farmington on ye north side of Belcher’s River and tor his pains and trouble therein shall receive of said Jedidiah North the sum of 26s..by law forfeited to this Society by the said Jedidiah North. “At the Same Meeting. it was Voted that any person in this Society may pay their 6p. Rate granted for build- ing a Meeting House at a meeting on ye 23rd day of Dec, last to the treas, in Grain & ete. at the following prices viz—wheat at 4s. per bu.; Rie.at 2/8; Indian Corn (if merchantable) at 1/10; Oats at 1/5; Flax Seed at 4/4; provided the same be paid be- fore or by the 20th day of Oct. inst, “At the Same Meeting it was Voted that Roger Reiley be the treas. in room of Samuel Heart who declines'| to recelve and pay out the 6p. rate granted at Dec. last for building the meeting House, etc, ‘At the Same Meeting it was voted that a rate or tax of 6p. on the pound on the present list be made collected and paid into Lieut. Roger Riley Treas. by ye first day of April next from thence to be drawn out by the Committee for Building the Meeting House and by them imprdve accord- ingly for ye purpose, the John Kirby, bullding Inhabitants of Said Society. The above warrant was nndoraed on the. back-side as follows: led that we will pay unto ye said Mr, Fenn the sum of 300 pounds in value (that is) equal to that sum in good merchantable wheat at 6s per bu., indian corn at 3s. per bu.;' good pork at 30 and beef at 25s. per hundred weight or in good silver or gold at that computation or in current paper money equivalent thereto at the time of payment to be paid in threv years an equal sum in each terpn that is to say, one hundred pounds to be paid in value as aforesaid that is wheat ete. by the first day of September next and 100 pounds to be paid as aforesaid by the first day of Septem- ber A. D. 1781 and 100 pounds more to be paid as aforesaid by the first day of September A. D, 1782. “And for his annual Sallary—Vot- | g, ed that we will pay unto ye said Mr. | Ienn during ye time of his continu- ing in the work of the ministry with us and we do by this covenant and stipulation bind ourselves our Heirs, ete. to pay the yearly sallary in value as_aforesaid as specified and express- &l for payment of a settlement equal to wheat at 6s. per bu. and ect. to sallary to become due and paid by the first day of Dec. annually that is to say one hundred ten pounds paid as aforesaid for the first years sallary after his ordination and 120 pounds for the second years sallary and 135 pounds paid as aforesaid for the third years sallary and ever after to con- tinue fixed at the same sum of 135 pounds annually. Voted also that we will pay and furnish to ye said Mr. Fenn over and besides the sums be- fore stipulated for the three first years after his ordination 20 cords of good fire wood annually and ever after 23 cords of good fire wood an- nually to be paid in wood and no other way.” Reply of Rev., Fenn, Rev. Samuel Clark when he neglected to give them any definite answer wheth- er or not he would accept the pulpit at the Worthington Meeting House. Evidently the members became tir- ed of the continual neglect of Rev.
