BIBLE CLASS HEADS MEET AT PARSONAGE Organize White Army With Dr. J. E. Conger General Tt was decided to organize a White army at a session of the members of the executive committee of Every- man’s Bible class last evening, as guests of Rev. and Mrs. John L Davis, at the Methodist parsonage, 42 Cedar street. Dr. J. E. Conger was chosen, unanimously, to be general of the new army and assumed his duties immediately. Approve Class Paper. A vote of confidence and approval of the E. B. C. News was passéd and the plans of the management of that paper to charge an annual subscrip- tion price of 50 cents per year to de- fray postage, were endorsed, To Reorganize Class. Plans were started towards a re- organization of the class before the meetings resume in the fall Pro- posed changes in the by-laws and con- stitution were left in the hands of At- torney Mortimer H. Camp for con- sideration and re-submission to the committee, These proposed changes then will be submitted to the mem- bership of the class for final action. To Have Comptroller, One of the changes plans to make the ehairman of the finance commit- tee, class comptroller to O. K. all bills before the sameé may be con- tracted. It was voted to6 borrow $100 to pay off some outstanding bills A financial report will be sent to the members. City Items Martha chapter, O. Near Jerusalem, Jerusalem, June 20.—Much of the materjal that is to be used in the work of developing the hydraulic power of the falls of the Jordan, near the Sea of Galllee, will be acquired from German firms. Their prices are said to be one-half those of British houses, and considerably below those of American bidders. The plan includes the construction of a dam on the Jordan River at the point where it {ssues from the Sea of Galilee; a large storage reservoir; irrigation canals, and the installation of electric generating stations. Amer- fean-Jewish organizations are sald to be largely interested in the project. The contract has been awarded to Pinhas Rutenberg, a Russian engin-. eer, by the British government.
