SCHOOL FOR | SEGRETARIAL STUDY National Project for Learning Members- of the New Britain Chamber of Commerce were greatly interested in the announcement that a national school commercial secretaries woyld- be conducted this summer at the Northwestern uni- versity, Evanston, Illinois. The school will be conducted under the joint auspices of the Chamber of Com- merce of the United States, the Na- tional Association of Commercial Organization Secretaries and North- western university. The idea originated with the Sec- retarjes’ association and received the warm approval of the National Chamber of Commerce and the uni- versity. The school term be two weeks, July 18.30, but it is planned that those pupils who wish to carry on the work through the year may be en- abled to do so by means of corre- spondence courses. This part of the schedule has not been completed. Secretaries of commercial organi- zations through the country will be enabled at the school' to learn at first hand the practical methods em- ployed by the most sucecessful men in their line, and will also hear emi- nent experts lecture on the under- lying principles of bysiness and eco- nomics with which they need to be familiar in carrying on their work. The mornings from eight o'clock to twelve will be devoted ‘to Jec- tures and study hours. The after- noons, from two until four o’clock will be given to conferences between the students and the lecturers, which will resolve themselves into round- table talks st which questions will be asked and answered. The curri- eculym will cover a~wide range of subjects, from which the students may elect those they wish to pursue.
