Edward Bar- compose the building committee and have been busy of late looking into propositions eptable. However, the exorbitant prices asked by out-of- town property owners has caused a halt in the plans of the committee. A favorable site was being considered on Crown street, for sale by a Bristol real estate man, but the price was out out of the question, in the opinion of the post officials. The committee now has a good proposition on East Main street and an investig.ltion of the lot is being made. Should a fair price be asked, the post will in all probability make the purchase. The site would make an excellent place for the build- ing planned. It is centrally located and easy of access for all members. The building under consideration the Legion will not merely be a club-house or gathering place for the ex-service men, but will be a hall that will accommodate a sizable crowd. There is no place in the town at pres- ent that can hold an assembly since the old Town Hall burned down sev- years ago. The Grange Hail is the largest place at present. The com- mittee will give a report at the next meeting. Memorial Day Plans. The celebration of Memorial Day was also discussed at the meeting and a good turn-out of the members is anticipated. A parade will be held the Plainville Drum corps will did last year. The graves of the soldiers will be dec- orated with flowers. The post has purchased markers and these will be placed at the heads of the graves. There are about eight in all that will be marked and decorated. Complete plans for the event will be made at a later date. g To Hold Social. Not wishing to let other organiza- tions and societies get ahead of them, the post members formed a cribbag> team and will soon be in a position to meet all comers in the town and elsewhere. The team will be led by Ralph Newell who will select his players. The Pythian lodge formed a team of this sort on Friday evening and the desire of the Legion players is to meet them in the near future. Rebekah Anmiversary.
