Tt so happens that I am chairman of the appropriations committee, which gives certain humanitarian workers the idea that I have a vote on such a matter. Stagg, Former Bookkeepe: at Soldiers Home, Pleads Guilty. Bridgeport, Feb. 16.—Thomas H. Stagg, former bookkeeper in the Sol- diers’ Home at Noroton, pleaded guil- ty in superior court yesterday to a charge of embezzlement of §8,700 of state funds from the Soldiers’ Home. Judge Kellogg sentenced him to the state prison for from two to five years Stagg disappeared from Noroton in October, 1919, and later it was dis- covered that funds were mis the home.
