Deaths and Funerals Svenning A. Johns Svenning A. Johnson, aged 71 years, died yesterday at his home 353 Church street. He was a native of Sweden, and has resided in this city for many vears. He is survived by a son, for- mer Councilman John A. Johnson. a daughter, Mrs. Robert Johnso; a brother John Johnson of Dover, N. J., and two grandchildren, Miss Lillian Foiren and Robert Johnson JIr. He was a member of the Kronan Sick Benefit society and the Fridhem so- ciety. The funeral will be held at 2 o'clock Wednesdgy afterneon at his late residence. Services will be held at 2:30 o'clock in the Swedish Luth- eran church. Rev. S. G. Ohman will officiate and the burial will be in Fair- view cemeter.y Mrs. Edward P. Ryan Mary Ryan, aged 42 years, d P. Ryan of 304 Park street, died \exlcnday morning at her home. Besides her husband, she leaves tweo sons, Cornelius and Michael Ryan, and a daughter, Miss Veronica Ryan. The funeral will be held at 9 | o'clock tomorrew morning at St. Joseph’s church. The burial will be in St. Mary's new cemetery. Mrs. wife of Edwa Anders G. Fritzson Anders Gustaf Fritzson, one of the best known Swedish residents in this city, died yesterday at his home 328 South Main street. He was 75 years old, and had been in ill health for a long period of time. He is survived by | his wife, three daughters, Mrs. Sigrid Johnson, Mrs. Alvin G. Wright and Mrs, Edward H. Parker; three sons, Frank Fritzson, who is in the United States navy, Albert Fritzsan, of Ken- sington, and Harry Fritzson, of this cit: two brothers in Sweden and two sisters in Colorade. He also leaves 10 grandchildren. The funeral will be held at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon at his late residence, Rev. Dr. S. G. Ohman will officiate, and the burial will be in Fairview cemetery. CHANGES SUGGESTED. Among the propostions suggested to the mayor in connection with charter | revisions are the removal of the right of appointing assessors the oflice to be elective, and the placing of the right to appoint a tax collector rather than elect one; increasing the amount of sewer assessment beyond the present maximum of $1.75 per foot; requiring the tax collector to collect personal and water taxes. - BASKETBALL GAMES AT BOY’S CLUB TONIGHT. Marshall R. Cook superintendent of the Boys' Club, has arranged to have the local Pyramids and the Busy Bees’ basketball team of Bristol, play at the gymnasium this evening. As a preliminary game, the Corbin Screw girls and the Stanley Rule and Level girls will lash. McKeon's orchestra will furnish music for dancing which will follow the game. STANLEY WORKS STORE ! MAY BE DISCONTINUED A meeting of the Stanley Works Co-operative association will be held this evening to consider the matter discontinuing the co-operative store. A recommendation will be offer- ed to do away with the project, it being the belief of the association that store has served its purpose similar business establish- ments have been discontinued by other factories.
