Cream butter and sugar. 1-2 cup of the flour. Add egss well beaten. Sift flour, baking powder and salt fogether and add alternately with milk. Add flavoring. Turn imto 4 layer cake tins and bake 20 minutes in a moderate oven. Put together with the following: Lemon Jelly. cup sugar. egg. cup water. teaspoon butter. 1 tablespoon flour Grated Tind of 1 lemon Juice of 2 lemons. Mix flour and sugar thoroughly. Stir into egg. Add water and lemon. Add butter. Cook over hot water till thick. Conl and spread on cake.
