The wagon was such as those used by undertakers for the deivery of cask- ets and furniture used at funerals. This particular wagon on examination by daylight showed that it had been prepared for its freight, which was 13 cases of bonded whiskey and 200 gal- lons of alcohol The men arrested gave the names of John Silvertone of 14 Winthrop street, Hartford, and Samuel & Heller of Perth Amboy, N. J. Beth were held in $500 for a hearing. New York, Oct. 16.—Six months in the warkhouse for violating the wark- men's compensation law was the sen- tence imposed today on Samuel Itzkowitz, head of a Brookiyn dindow cleaning concern. Heretafore fines generally have been imposed in such cases. It was charged Ttzkowitz refused to take out insurance for his em- ployes because it cost $15 a year for each man.
