The funera: of Miss Helen Arute, aged 18, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Arute, who died at her home {on 499 South Main street of blood poisoning following the bite-of a mos- quito, was held at £t. Joseph's church at 9 o'clock this morning. A solemn requiem high mass was celebrated by Rev. Patrick Daly, Rev. Raymond | Keennedy was deacon, and Rev. J. Leo Sullivan was sub-deacon. ‘There was a long funeral cortege from St. Joseph's church to St. Mary's ; cemetery, headed by the New Brit- ain Military Bard waich played fu- neral music. Observers believe the Bolshevik plan is to bring up artillery to the battle line in the event they fail to cross the Vistula in force. Soviets Attacking. A state of ege has been declared here by the military gover- nor. Civilians are not permitted on the streets after 10 o'clock at night and cafes must close at 9 o'clock. The determination ‘of the Bolshe- viki to press onward to Warsaw showed itself at various points along the battle line today, there hand to hand fighting in many in- stances. The Poles savagely defend- ed their positions and contested every foot of ground given up to the in- vaders. Fighting was reported today with- in 30 miles of the capital. It was said Pultusk changed hands several times and last accounts were that fighting was going on in the streets.
