B. society read a report at yesterday’s meeting on the suc—‘ cess of thegbooth conducted by that society duri carnival week at Wal- nut Hill park, showing a profit of $1,280.82, 100 per cent of‘ which will be turned over to the Welcome Home week committee. During the week 225 pounds less than two tons of candy was given out at the booth, and twice the supply ran out, mak- ing necessary the purchasing of can- dy in small lots from firms in Hart- ford and New Haven. The proceeds from the booth on each of the nights was: Monday, $151; Tuesday, $361; Wednesday, $521; Thursday, $488; Friday, $740.70; Saturday, $1,391.05.
