JOAN OF ARC MEDAL LUCKY FOR HAWKER Rescued Aviator Was Carrying Souve- nir to Be Given to British Muscum. New York, May 27.—Harry G. Hawker and Lieutenant-Commander Grieve had with them on their at- tempted trans-Atlantic flight a silver Joan of Arc medal to be delivered to the British museum mint collec- tion. The local Joan of Arc statue! committee announced today that the rescued airmen carried one of two medals for delivery to European museums. The medal was struck in commemo- ration of the celebration held on. the 507th anniversary of the birth of Joan of Arc and the naming of the park in her honmor on Riverside Drive at 91st street on January 6 last. The committee sent two of medals to St. John's, N. F., to be de- livered, one to the fliers of the Sop- with plane and the other to P. F. Raynham and Major C. W. F.
