Peter Perrault, aged about 38 years, was bound over to the next term of the superior court under bonds of $1,000 this morning, for criminal as- sault alleged to have been committed vesterday afternoon on Eunice Wheel- er, aged 9. Perrault’s arrest followed investigation of complaints made to the local police that the man fre- quently had little girls in his room at 4 Washington Place. Yesterday Ser- geant Richardson and Officer Souney followed him. He went to 4 Washing- on Place and engaged a room, leav- ing the house shortly after and meet- ing the little Wheeler girl. Together { they walked down Main street as far as Central Park. They separated and the girl went up Main street. A little later the two met at the railroad tracks and went to the room to- gether. The officer followed them to the room and finding them taggther | questioned the girl, resultiag in the arrest af Perraulf. Perrault pleaded not gullty and said that he was merely friendly to the girl as he had known her for some { time. He said he was so drunk vester- day that anything he | aid.
