LIPMAN, 34 Lafayette Street Tel. 1320 ARMY DOCTOR HELD FOR KILLING PIPER The arrest at Fort Oglethorpe, Ga., of Dr. William J. Condon, one of the most prominent and popular physi- cians of New Brunswick, on charge of murdering John V. Piper, a graduate student in Rutgers college, last Feb- ruary, released a flood of rumor which had been spreading about under- ground for the last four months. Ever sinoce Piper’s disappearance gossip has conneécted Dr. Condon with the affair, but the discovery of the missing man’s body and the collection of evidence which brought County Prosecutor Joseph E. Strickler to the conclusion that he was killed by the physicians, has brought with it abso- lutely no trace of a motive whick could have inspired such a crime. Dr. Con- don, who was a surgecn in the regu- lar army in the Philippines and later served with the New Jersey guard, is now captain in the army medical corps at Fort Oglethorpe.
