McDonald was killed by a Llow under the heart de- livered by Willlam Hicks, Coroner Warren S. Hastings decided after an inquest yesterday. He subsequently discharged Hicks and six other men, including officers of the sporting club which staged the bout a2nd seconds of the principals, who had been under bail on a charge of manslaughter in the second degree. The coroner found, however, that Dr. A. H. Wheeler, -the physiclan who examined McDonald Dbefore he en- tered the ring, although a graduate of a recognized medical college and possessed of several years practical experience, was not licensed. This fact was ordered brought to the at- tention of tne boxing commission. Commissioner John Franey of Al bany, wvho saw the fatal exhibition, was a witness. He merely submitted and proved the commission’s rules. The coroner’s physician who per- formed the autopsy on the body of McDonald testified that all his organs were in normal condition.
