NEW BRITAIN DAILY HERALD, THURSDAY, DECEMBER 28, 1916. N i -3 e = [ Views of Fire in Arch St.| | Apartment House Dec. | Ice Cream Prices Advance In January | We want you to know the reason. For ten years, by spending money liberally on improved machinery and equipment in our ice cream business we have maintained the highest possible degree of efficiency and so have offset the slowly rising costs of material and labor, selling a uniform quality of ice cream at the same prices year after year. A year ago we partly offset the first few series of sharp increases by adding a delivery charge to our retail price. But recent great increases in costs have forced us to either in- crease our selling prices or cut our quality down. We believe that most of our customers prefer quality to price so long as the price is fair. We sincerely hope that the conditions scheduled below will not last and cannot believe they can possibly grow more unfavorable to us. We do not expect a return to the level of 1915, but we do expect a return to a point fixed by the slower rate of increase which comes from natural causes. | Here are a few facts for us and you to consider: ACTUAL PRICES PAID:- Dec. 1915 Dec. 1916 Dec. 1915 Dec. 1916 Heavy Cream $14.75 $19.00 ; Milk (at R.
