Some comment of late has reached the ears of local officers with respect to the admiral spirit of helpfulness exhibited by the Boy Scouts. That part of the Scout law which reads, “A Scout is helptul” is apparently no empty phrase. . Plans have ben made for an over night hike to the Troop Cabin in Pinnacle Mountain tomorrow. Next Monday's meeting promises to be one of the largest of the season in view of tho plans for a big supper. Scout Hig- gins as toastmaster will have charge of the program which includes speeches by Scout Walker, Anderson and MacArthur. A new system of monthly competition examinations has been started with a silver medal for the prize. Scout R. MacArthur, the winner of the fnitial tests will wear the badge for the coming month and the first scout to win three times will have the medal “for keeps." “ . Troop 4 will meet by the post office at 1:30 tomorrow for an afternoon hike. ~ Monday evening the troop Wwill be entertained at supper by Troop A of the Girl Scouts. e o Tomorrow afternoon Troop 8 will meet for a hike at 1:30 on the cor- ner of West Main and Russell streets.
