Now Is the Time to Pay the Old Account and Secure a Good Credit Rating TEN LIVES LOST IN TOWBOAT EXPLOSION Four Persons Seriously Burned When Boiler on San Brown Blew Up In Ohio River. Huntington, W. Va., Feb 3.—Ten persons were killed and four seriously burned by the explosion of the boiler on the towboat Sam Brown of Pitts- burgh, in the Ohio River, here yester- day. The dead are: L. C. Blair, captain; Sam Boyer, second engineer; Perry A. Wilson, en- gineer; William Hysor, Charles Shaf- er, Arnold Jones, C. H. Robinson, Wil- liam Cousins, William Bess and Jo- sephine Zehnder. The explosion is believed to have been due to the admission of cold | water into the boilers. The blast was terrific, bodies and wreckage being hurled to the shore on both sides of the river. A majority of the bodies were badly mangled. Charles Shafer, who died later, v insane when found on a floating piece of wreck- age. C. CONSUL OUSTE Paris, Feb. 3.—The Balkan agency has a dispatch originating in Vienna saving that the Austrian governor of Belgrade informed the American con- sul there that Serbia having ceased lo exist as an independent state, the Austrian military authorities were under the necessity of asking him to leave. The dispatch adds that the consul has arrived in Vienna and tele- graphed Washington for instrictions. City Advertisement BOARD OF RELIEF.
