After re- ulsing a violent attack our men as- med the offensive and, harrying flying enemy, reached and stormed i summit of Monte Seis, which rises 700 feet to the north of Col di Lana. ::*Im Carnia there was an intense ar- action. The dirigible was dis- covered by the enemy’s searchlights but eluded the fire of anti-aircraft guns and returned unscathed to our lines.” COD CATCH SMALLER. But Higher Prices ' Increasec Value About $200,000, St. John’s, N. F., No. 10.—Although the total catch of cod off the Labra- dor coast in the fishing season just ending was somewhat less than that of last year, the higher prices ob- tained gave it an increase in value estimated at $200,000. More than ten thousand men and women were engaged in the fisheries, in which 852 vessels participated. The women numbering about a thousand, wer employed in caring for the fish landed at the numerous staticns established along the coast. The fishermen are now preparing for the winter herring fisheries off the west coast of Newfoundland. Reports received from the coast indicate that there will be more actively then usual in this direction, because of the cur- tailment of imports to Canada and the United States from Europe as a result of the suspension of fishing in the North Sea. SPRINGFLELD TEACHE HERE. A corps of teachers from the For- est Park school, Springfield, with In- dustria Director McNary were here today to inspect the Prevocational school. New Britain’s experiment in trade school is being watched all over the country and hardly a day passes without inquiries being re- ceived from difffrent educational centers, all of which goes to prove that the Hardware City is regarded as a leader in educational affairs. Su- perintendent Stark of Hackensack, N. J., was another visitor today at the Prevocational school. The annual guest night, under the auspices of the Woman's club, will be observed this evening at the Y. W. C. A, FOR SALE OR RENT.
