San Francisco, Sept. 17.—Miss Frances Jolliffe of San Francisco and Mrs. Sarah Bardfield of Portland, Ore., are on their way today by au- tomobile to Washington, D. C., car- rying with them to present to Con- gress resolutions adopted here yes- terday by the Women Voters’ con- vention and a 500,000 name petition urging congress to enact a national woman suffrage law. The resolutions urge the Susan B. Anthony plan for securing woman suffrage by amend- ment of the federal constitution. The convention held under the aus- pices of the Congressional Union for Woman Suffrage adjourned last night, after ceremonies at the Panama Pa- cific exposition. NATURALIZATION SCHOOL- Institute in Pittsburg—Will Train for Citizenship. pittsburgh, Pa., Sept. 12.—The com- mittee of instruction of the board of education announced today that a de- partment devoted to training for cit- izenship will be added to the public school system beginning October 4 and continuing in operation for twen- ty weeks. Sessions will be held at night and three courses will be of- fered students, special attention being given to the English language in each course. An arrangement with the federal authorities provides that the names of all persons applying for naturaliza- tion will be filed with the school au- thorities who will then invite them to attend the school. 500 R.
