Norwalk, Aug. 13.—Becoming en- tangled in the weeds while bathing in Norwalk harbor off Fort Mally Island yesterday John A. Halas, aged 26, a carpenter, was drowned. It was said he could not swim well. Two com- panions, Charles Selinsky and Joseph Badas, were in bathing with him when the former cried for help and Badas went to his assistance. . Halas started to swim to him also when he met death. The others reached shore safely. The body was recovered.
