Mund declared that when he was arrested it was the first time he ever heard of the new law. He also denied that he ran by the car when it was standing. It had not come to a stop when he passed it, he said. Purinton was a’ surs prised man last night when Officer Walenczius asked him for his license and he reached into his pocket for it and found it missing. He told the court that he had the license yester- day forning, but;when he looked for it last night he discovered that it had been lost out of his pocketbook. He has driven an automobile for ninc vears. Judsment was suspended with the understanding that he get a nev license at once. The policeman’s attention was at- tracted to Purington when he saw he had but one light burning. The other light was warm, however, showing that it had bene extinguished enly a short while. Steals $2 at Carnival. A fine of $6 and costs was levied on Joseph Brown, aged eighteen. Brown s entrusted with $2 by George Van Epps, a barker at the carnival, to take to another booth.
