Wetmore on Grove Hill Mrs. Harry M. Bates, treasurer of the local society, reported that over $200 had been generously donated for fur- thering the relief work. Twenty- four boxes containing articles for the soldiers have been shipped across the water and plans are under way for another. Miss Mary J. Brown told of the excellent progress this local branch has made during the four montas of its organization. The young couple will reside at 77 Grove Hill and will be at hame to thelr friends after the first of July. oo One of the most enjoyable affairs of the social season took place Wed- | nesday evening in Booth’s hall, when { the Kenilworth club gave its annual ball and reception. The halls were most attractively decorated for the occasion. Green and white streamers were artistically draped upon the walls while southern smilax studded with pink and white chrysanthemums fes tooned the ceiling and walls. The orchestra was hidden behind a beau- tiful gate composed of two large white pillars offset with electric lights and garlands of smilax and on the west | wall was a large illuminated Kenil- worth shield. The many couples pres- ent, a number of whom were out of town guests, thoroughly enjoved the eighteen dances and the concert given by Judd’'s orchestra from 8 to 9 o’clock.
