A number of cars were de- railed, the accident occurring at * Sturgess Siding, two miles north of fhelton. As the line was blocked the Federal Express from Washington via Poughkeepsie Bridge, had to be sent via Botsford and Bridgeport to New Haven. No one was hurt in the freight wreck. EAT LESS AND TAKE SALTS FOR KIDNEYS Take a glass of salts before breakfast if your back hurts or bladder bothers. The American men and women must guard constantly against Kidney trouble, because we eat too much and all our food is rich. Our blood is filled with uric acid which the kid- neys strive to filter out, they wealken from overwork, become sluggish; the eliminative tissues clog and the re- sult is kidney trouble, bladder weak- ness and a general decline in health. ‘When your kidneys feel like lumps of lead; your back hurts or the urine is cloudy, full of sediment or you are obliged to seek relief two or three times during the night; if you suffer with sick headache or dizzy, nervous spells, acid stomach. or you have rheumatism when the weather is bad, get from your pharmacist about four ounces of Jad Salts; take a table- spoonful in a glass of water before preakfast for a few days and your kidneys will then act fine. This fa- mous salts is made from the acid of grapes and lemon juice, combined with lithia, and has been used for generations to flush and stimulate clogged kidneys; to neutralize the acids in the urine so it no longer is a source of rritation, thus ending bladder disorders. Jad Salts is inexpensive; cannot in- jure, makes a delightful effervescent ALLIED FLEET SILENCES MORE TURKISH FORTS Beseiging Ships Damaged by fFire From German-made Guns. This struggle for the gateway of the Ottoman capital is at present the big feature of the war news and close- ly linked with this is the sustained excitement in Greece incident to the resignation of the cabinet of M. Veni- zelos, who, deeming Greece’s entry into the hostilities on the side of the Triple Entente imperative, could not agree with his king and resigned. M. Zaimis has declined to form a cabinet according to an Athens dispatch and King Constantine will summon M. Gounaris, deputy for Patras, for the task. Queen Elizabeth Hit Three Times. From the number of ships engaged and the size and range of the guns, the battle of the Dardanelles is unlike anything in history, according to naval experts. At 21,000 yards the husgc battleship Queen Elizabeth, of the British squadron, assisted by smaller ships, is still hurling shells across the Gallipoli Peninsula into the Turkish strongholds on the Asiatic shore. The admiralty statement carries the oper- ations through Sunday and admits that the Turks not only scored three minor hits on the Queen Elizabeth, but that the majority of the ships incide the Sstraits, both French and British, were struck. None was sunlk and there were no casualties. Two Forts Silenced. The Turkish forts Rumili Medjidieh Tabia and Hamidieh I Tabia, fringing the Asiatic shore line, which pre- viously had withstood the bombard- ment, were silenced, as was tae Mount Dardanus battery further south. The Turkish casualties are unknown A Turkish official statement from Constantinople, issued prior to the admiralty statement this evening, in- sisted that the fighting in the Dar- danelles was developing in favor of the Turks. It was stated that no bat- teries were being destroyed and taat the hostile ships were forced to re- treat, Abdul Hamid Reported Free. One of the most picturesque bits | of news is from Bucharest, Rumania, stating that former Sultan Abdul Hamid has regained his freedom and is gathering his friends and support- ers around him. It is asserted that he may seek to play an important part in his country affairs. More progregs by the British fleet before Smyrna, by which Turkish batteries were silenced, is announced in an admiralty statement. Another official statement says that the Turks’ loss in the land fighting at the head of the Persian Gulf is 50 per cent. larger than previously reported. British Statement. The British admiralty last night made public the following statement: “The operations against the Dar- danelles are progressing in fine wea- ther. Vice Admiral Sackville H.
