Although New Britain Iligh tured the game last night from Hartford, Coach Zwick of the local team is everything but satisfied with the results. The game was anybody’s game up to the last moment and the local boys can thank their lucky stars that they got away with it. Hartford .deserves all the credit that can be given to it for the remark- able showing that they made last night. Although playing on a floor en- tirely strange to them, hampering them in all their moves as at least five baskets were called void after rolling through the charmed circle because one of the Hartford players had his foot over the boundary line as he shot the ball, they almost tri- umphed over the locals. Their team work and pass work was also of high order. It was evident after the first half that several of the New Britain play- crs had an off night. In the most critical moment of the game the[ whistle of the referee was heard and the usual ‘“Foul on New Britain” was called. No less than fourteen fouls were rolled up on them compared with Hartofrd’s four. If Captain Flynn of Hartford had his eyve with him in shooting fouls the followers of the red and gold would have a dif- ferent story to tell today as Flynn caged but seven out of fourteen free trials. That a change in the lineup will come was announced by Dr. Zwick after the game last night. New Brit- ain has yet to play some of its hard- est games and practically the hardest of these will be out of town. Nauga- tuck, Waterbury, Hartford and Mid- dletown are the teams to be played on their own floors. The team traveled to New Jersey today to line up against Englewood | High school, champions of that state. The same team that played last night went to New Jersey but when they report next week for practice the big cap- shakeup will occur. From a contemporary of the fight the following scntences will suffice “Spring got Oliver's head in chancery and pummelled his already bruised face until_ it was mass of bloddy jelly. Having punished Oliver he had to scream with pain, Spring threw him a cross- hum.m\ which seemed to dislocate his neck. Even then Oliver refused to quit, and, although unable to stand, he insisted that his seconds lead him to the cen- ter of the ring. When their support was withdrawn Oliver fell down in a fainting f and Spring was awarded the victory. 1897—Martin Frank Erne in York. 1899—Jimmy Jimmy Dime in TN 1900—Oscar Gardner White fought 6-round cago.
