Aiken, formerly of this city, but more lately of Tarpon Springs, is a badly wanted man, according to in- formation from that city and also from Clearwater yesterday. The story is that Aiken, who was em- ployed by Arthur L. Johnson, one of the leading merchants of Tarpon Springs, departed taking along with him some of the firm’s cash and de- serting his family. That Aiken visited Jacksonville is evidenced by the fact that he wrote Mr. Johnson from that city, telling him that he left because of domestic itrouble and that two dollars for {each one that he defaulted, would be returned in time. The promise may be all right, and Aiken may (have thought that was what he would do but Mr. Johnson wants his {cash and swore out the warrant. Aiken also write his wife a letter it is said. He indicated in one or both of the letters that he was going to New Orleans. Where he went, as a matter of fact is not known. The authorities however, are trying to get a line on him. The alleged defalcation amounts to quite a con- siderable sum. TIn addition an en- tirely new outfit of wearing apparel was taken by Aiken. Aiken a few years ago was ar- rainged in police court here charged with an assault upon his wife, in one of the city parks.
