It 1s estimated that about 144,000 uarfg of strawberries haye left thjs} section, comprising the towns Lakeland, Galloway, Grifin and Kathleen, all in a radius of eight miles, since the shipping teason op- ened in December. For these berries good prices have been received, al- though the prices have not been up tq the usual high mark owing to the great mmount of rain that has fallen this winter. However, on the lo- cal piatform, C. W Jacoba has been paying 16 and 18 cents pec quart to the grower all this week, which 1s three and five cents higher than paid at some other points. 9t good weather continues for the flext week or tem days, theprices will vance and good money will be made by the growers. Last night Chautauquans again had the pleasure of hearing Miss Ethel Lee Buxton, the celebrated soprano, of New York, in several classical numbers, and the Rogers Goshen Band delighted all with their eplendidly rendered salecticr.s. Following this, Prof. Chas. Lane, of Macon, Ga., delivered a lectuve, his subject being “Lessons Not Learned in Books.” Prof. Lane, a teacher of many years’ experience, hag been one of the South’s most popular lecturers for many years. His versatility on the platform makes him a delight to everyone of his audience. Sparkling with humor he weaves a lesson into every laugh and a laugh into every lesson. Those who have heard him are anxious to hear him again and laugh with him. Thig morning the Bible Hour was conducted by Rev. Adna W. Moore and at 11 o'clock Mrs. Ida B.
