This room has taken on the appearance of a well stocked fancy grocery, and both in the qual- ?ty of the articles and attractiveness of the packages, the displays will compare favorably with those made by the best fancy dealers in the country. The room is decorated with the club colors, yellow and red, and Miss Verda Thompson, the accomplisied agent for Polk county, to whose ui- tiring and intelligent labors magnificent results are due, i- in charge, courteously explaining o the admiring visitors the many ia- teresting exhibits. Perhaps the most striking of these is that of NMiss Floy Brown, of Homeland, who has 72 different kinds of products put up in glass, including 31 varieties of jellies, besides preserves, sweet pickles, relishes and other appetiz- ing dainties. This young lady has put up this season 1,100 cans of to- matoes and 550 cans of guavas, be- sides a great varicty of other fruits and vegetables. tbhe Another splendid exhibit is that of Misses Myrtle and Vera Hancock, of Kathleen, who also have a great variety of products in glas:, besides peaches and tomatoes in tins. Spe- cial interest attaches to their exhibit for the reason that these young la- dies planted and raised the fruits and vegetables shown in their dis- play. " Misseg Sarah and Syble Carter, of Lakeland, also have a fine exhibit, ‘.md they, too, grew the products for their display. Other excellent displayg are those |/ of Miss Helen Driggers and Misses Sallie and Pear] Lowry, of Lakeland, these young ladies having splendid exhibits of canned tomatoes, guavas, ete. Lineberger Brothers, proprietors of the Lakeland Cannery, have a fine display of their products, consisting of tomatoes, beets, sauerkraut, guava#, corn and tomato soup and guava Jelly. C. E. Langley, of the Dixie Can- ning and Preserving Co. of Auburn- dale, has a very interesting display of grapefruit products—grapefruit phosphate, sundae, and the grape- fruit canned under their special process, which givesg it to the con- sumer with all the freshness and flavor with which it came from the tree. This company is also canning vegetables of various Kkinds:. There are also many interesting individual displayg of jellies, pre- wervas, etc., nmong them some beau- tiful packages put up by Mrs. E. H. Van Sickler, Mrs. Paul Gardner, Mrs. J. L. Moyer, Mrs. J. L. Thompson ‘and Mrs. Fannie Reyn- olds. The guava jelly made by the last named lady is pronounced by all to be the prettiest ever put on dis- play anywhere. It will certainly entertain and in- struct anyone to visit this exhibit and see what can be done by young girls here in Florida.
