This one was copied from a model especially designed for the event, and was brilllantly attractive in chalk white deauville cloth and | olive green satin. The cloth made the long tunic and the jaunty walstcoat, while the satin was used for the clever little eton- bolero, cuirassier sash, and foot of the narrow underskirt. The inner vest with upstanding collar and wing lapels attached forms the front of a white batiste blouse, which s worn with the suit, and was itself of batiste. The success of the long tunics lies in the “hang” of them. Waist lines are high, but by means of -the cuirassier sash or widespread girdle the new dropped line is achiev- ed. In this case a width of satin was tacked in place in small folds at the center front of the skirt and from there drawn downward over the hips and knotted in back with sash ends pendant. The jacket was quite short, modest- ly garnished with flat silver buttons, and lined with white or flowered chif- fon. The vest was given a close row of smaller silver buttons and button- holes, which were used only as a trimming, for, if fastened at all, it was only the lowest buttoa that was employed. BEST FOR THE SACHET BAG Sweet Geranium Blossoms and Leaves Impart Most Delightful Scent to Clean Linen. You will find a sachet bag filled with the spicily sweet geranium blos. jsoms and leaves delightful to put in the piles of freshly-laundered linens. Pick the blossoms from their stems and arrange the wilted or dried ones in the center of the bag. Use plain or fancy net for making the bags, as the colors show through nicely. Put red, pink and white geranium petals ito the outside, and algo two skeleton i rose geranium leaves, with a spray of ! their blossoms. A spray of lemon ver- , bena may be mixed with these to give ,an added bouquet. | If one has a lavender plant flower- ing in the garden, its flowers will make good sachet bags, but be sure to gather the flowers before being robbed by the bees. A few drops of geranium or lavender in the center of each bag will greatly accentuate the odor of the flowers. Surveys. Residence Phone 240 Black DR. J. Q.
