That upon these same grounds will be erected a Home for the Widows and Orphans and a Iromne for the Aged The Order is also arranging to build a General Hospital and a Sana- torium to care for its member- ship. 3132 Lakeland Be It Ordalned by the Board of Commis- loners of the City of Lakeland: Section 1.—That the clty clerk shall be local registrar of vital statistics in the city of Lakeland, and it shall be his duty to supply all physiclans, midwives, undertakers oand others requiring them for use, blank cer- tificates for the registration of births and deaths, which shall be of the standerd form approved by the State Board of Heaith; and to recelve and make copies of such cemflcntes and transmit the originals to the State Boatd of Health on the tenth day of each month ; and to issue burial, removal or other per- mits upon the receipt of complete, satisfac- tory and properly executed certificates of death; and no dead body of a human being whose death occurs, or whose body Is found, in the city of Lakeland, shall be interred, or otherwise disposed of, removed from the after death, without a burial, removal or oth- er permit issued by the city clerk in ad- vance of such interment, other disposition or removal. Section That it shall be the duty of the mmerhkor or person acting as such to obtain we certificate of death, have it filled out with respect to the personal pariiculars, present it to the attendant physician for the medical certificate of cause of death, and ob- tain the burial, removal or other permit from the city clerk; provided, that when there be no attending physician, the certificate “shall be referred to the health officer or coroner for the statement of the cause of death. Section 3. That it shall be the duty of the physician, midwife or person acting as mid- wife, attending a case of confinement, to file a_complete, satisfactory and properly execut- ed certificate of Dirth with the city clerk within three days thereafter; provided, that when there shall have been no physician or midwife in attendance, then it shall be the duty of the parent, houscholder or owner of the premises where the birth occurrod to file such certificate_ Section 4. That any physician, midwife, un- dertaker or other person who violates or fails to comply with any of the duties or pro- visions of this ordinance, shall upon trial and conviction of such violatlon, be fined in a sum from ten to one hundred dollars, or by imprisonment for a period from ten to thirty days, or by both fine and imprisonment. Section 5. Y., Sept. 12.—The formal acceptance by the State of {John Boyd Thatcher Park will take place today, with elaborate cere- monies and a fine pageant. This ‘park is the gift of Mrs Emma i Treadwell Thatcher, and today was’ ichosen because Mr. Thatcher was born on Sept. 12, and it is also the wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Thatcher. The pageant will |be the first of its kind in Albany and is intended to portray the ro- mantic and historical scenes that had their setting in the wild woods of the “Indian Ladder” and cliffs of the park. Among other speakers will be Dr. George F. Kunz, presi- {dent of the American Scenic and 'thfl"l(‘ Preservation Society, into' whose custody the park has been turned by the state for safekeep- ing.
