Hudson, of Talla- hassee, spent last night in the city the guest of his niece, Mrs. J, F. Mr. Hudson has decided to enter the race for governor at the next gubernatorial primary, and, being eminently fitted for the office and having a large following throughout the State, Mr. Hudson stands a splendid chance of being the State's next chief executive, FNE SNGER MAS SPLENDD INPRESSON 1 R by The revival being conducted the Christian church opened last night under the large tent, corner of Florida avenue and Lemon street, and the seating capacity was taxed almost to the limit. The tent seats 800 persons and additional seats will be put in place before tonight’s ser- vice in order that there may be room for all. Rev. Woodward preacheq a fine sermon last night, and his preaching i attracting wide attention. The singing, under the directio of Miss Lowman, is one of the most pleas- ing features of the meeting. A choir of fine voices has been organized and although all have strong voices, above them all, sweet and strong, the silvery tones of Miss Lowman may be heard, and even the passerby is forced to stop to hear the song om@leted, enjoying the beautiful sweetness and strength of the voice of this remarkable singer. The public is cordially invited to attend these services. PRESBYTERIAN MIS SIONARY MEETING The Woman's Home and Foreign Missionary Society will meet in the church tomorrow afternoon at three o'clock. Mr. Booth and Mr. Lamberton are so well pleased that they are coming back to invest in property and spend next winter here in Lakeland. Baldrick, an old Lakeland boy, died last night ini Tampa, which news will bring sor- row to the hearts of his many friends in this city. The funeral will be hejd in Lakeland tomorrow afternoon. Of his death this morn- ing’s Tampa Tribune says: Louis T. Baldrick, well known Tampa business man who was pop- ular amonz a host of friends in Tam- pa and South Florida, died at the Gordon Keller hospital at 10:15 o'clock lasg night after an i]lness of, nine days. Mr. Baldrick was taken suddenly ill on March 16 but the se~’ riousness of his condition was not at, first realized. Last Monday he was p rated on for an acute condition,! and since that time up to his xlpmh' last night his condition had hoon' extremely low. Other rela- tves are his sister, Mrs. F. C. Bowyer, of this city, and his aunt, Mrs. G. A. Roundtree, of Lakeland. Mr. Baldrick’s mother, Mrs R. S. Baldrick, of Tampa, is still living, but his father died about twelve years ago. Mr. Baldrick’s death was caused by acute congestion of the gall bladder.
