K.’s were delightfully entertained last Saturday afternoon at 4 o'clock by Miss Gladys Wilson. A jolly game of bummy was played in which “Jinks” was the lucky one as she held only 43 when Hezekiah reached the hundred mark. After this they were invited to the dining room where they were served with a dainty luncheon of hot chocolate and sandwiches. They hated to “‘eat and run,” but, as it was rather late by this time, that is exactly what they had to do. Only six of the club were present. They are in hopes that Mary Jack- son will be with them on their next meeting as she is expected home for the holidays. REPORTER. Mrs. Hetherington Entertainel Mrs. M. F. Hetherington enter- tained a number of friends yesterday afternoon from 3 to 6, the occasion being in celebration of the birthday of her sister, Miss Gertrude DeRieux. Jasamine, poinsettas, narcissus and roses were used in the various rooms while in the dining room the color scheme of red and yellow was carried out. After all the guests had assembled, a little booklet was handed each guest which bore the title “\Who's Who and Why? The guests were Invited to the dining room after the contests) where a salad course was served, fol- lowed by cake and hot chocolate. Place cards, each bearing a different inscription, enabled the guests to find their places, and between courses these were read to the en- joyment and amusement of all. The centerpiece of the dining table was a Japanese basket covered with flow- ers, and issuing therefrom to all parts of the table were red and yel- low ribbons, one for each guest. When these were pulled a maze of kodak pictures came into view and each guest found their favors were pictures of the honoree. Miss DeRieux was the recipient of many lovely gifts, which she prizes | most highly. The following added much to the enjoyment of the occa- sion by their presence: Mrs. A. H. Darracott, Mrs. W. M. THE KNIGHT OF LONESOME GULCH A Funny Western Comedy AT THE LARTAT'S END A Fine Western Comedy Drama SWEET DECEPTION A Vitagraph Comedy MATINEE EVERY DAY 2:30-5:00 Always a Good Show and Sometimes a Better Show. et Us Show You W. C. T. U. Met Yesterday The W. C. T. U. held its regular meeting at the Odd Fellows’ hall Tuesday afternoon with a very good attendance. The devotional exer- cises were conducted by Mrs. Wil- loughby. Owing to the length of the reports there was only time for the reports given by Mrs. Beebe of the national and inter-national conven- j tions, and these were necessarily very much condensed. A selection, “A Fence or an Ambu- lance,” was beautifully read by Mrs, Fleming. It has been decided to raise the room rent by assessing each member a small amount each month. If each member will pay five cents per month it will be sufficient, and much less trouble and worry than having en- tertainments, cake sales, etc., to raise the amount. A committee was appointed to make arrangements for taking part in the parade Jan. 1. We were glad to have with us several who have not before attended. We hope the fact of being uncomfortably cool will not prevent their coming again. We think pvrhaps'tho hall will be heated before another meeting. The reports from the State convention will be given then by Mrs. Webb and Mrs. Morse. The meeting will be opened at 2:30 p. m., Dec. 23, in order to have time to attend to the business on hand. A subscription was taken up to pay for a ticket fur- nished a woman who was stranded at the depot. The meeting adjourned to convene two weeks hence. PRESS SUPERINTENDEN I, Woman's Auxiliary Met With Mrs. 0 M Eaton The Woman's Auxiliary of All Saints Episcopal church, met yester- day afternoon at of Mrs. O. M. Eaton. Owing to the illness of Mrs. Edith (lemmence the meeting could not he held with her as had been previously the residence announced. The following ladies responded to the roll call: Mrs. Drane, Mrs, Dudley, Mrs. Ti , Mrs. Morrell, Mrs. BRolton, Mrs. Flood, Mrs., lla- ton and Miss Rivers. The Advent Box, which being packed by Mrs. Dudley, is still call- ing for contributions, and anything in the way of sccond-hand clothing which any one wishes to contribute, will be gladly received by Mrs. Dud- ley. The Christmas box for the church Home and Hospitay, at Orlando, will be omitted this month, as there are several charities at home, needing at- is tention. Our Thanksgiving box for this same institution amounted to $16.05. As it was not decided where the next meeting will be held, notice of same will appear later. After a most pleasant social hour, during which our hostess served re- freshments, the meeting was ad- journed. SECRETARY.
