The Chautau- qua Circle holds social meetings monthly ,at which time each memsber: has the privilege of inviting offe friend, and the gathering last night will long be remembered as one of their most pleasant affairs. It was a matter of much gratification to the members that they had with them last evening Prof. and Mrs. C. The lovely Riggins home was beau- tifully arranged for the occasion, & quantity of flowers and greenery be- ing used in, the decorations. There was no program rendered, the guests coming together for an evening of in- formal amusement, and that they were highly entertained s the declar- atlon of all so fortunate as to be present. Several interesting games had been arranged, one of which was very - laughable indeed. Each lady had been requested to bring a emall sample of the dress she was to wear, and these were given’to the men, | f with instructions to find their part-' ners by matching the samples with the ladies’ dresses. The mwu Ivuud, this very interesting, but when they found the desifed materials they at once became interested in the fair Wearer of the dress and not in the dress at all, and what was their sur- prise and amazement when they ‘were marshalled off tato an adjoining room, given pencils and paper dnd| requested to write a description of thelr ‘partners’ dresses. The results were startling indeed, and rather pleasing to the ladies also, as the latter found that they were so very interesting that their apparel was barely noticed. Another interesting game was an advertising contest. Advertisements’ from ‘magazines were placed in va-, rious parts of the rooms “and the guests were required to'guess the name of the firms whose wares were advertised. ; The evening was one round of mn, were served, a’ter which all bade their host and hostesses good-night. thanking them for a most delightful evening. : rfect and yet we amend not oup own | color “combina ‘We shall continue oughly enjoyed every moment.
