The bride, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andres San Miguel of 912 Simonton Street. The groom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Paul T. The Key West Youth Center w Club as the result of a special mee yesterday afternoon. The Youth Center was originally organized by the Junior Wom- an’s Club and the Woman’s Club and is primarily for children of eee junior high school age. It was accepted as a member agency of the Key West Communi- ty Chest and has operated as such for the past year. This year’s Community Chest campaign fell far short of its goal and the programs of all member agencies will have to be drastically curtailed. Women Golfers Set Trophy Luncheon In January The weekly play-off tournament of the Woman’s Golf Association was held on Tuesday, December 21. Last week’s tournament was re- peated by request from the mem- bers. Three holes were drawn from the hat and thrown ouf. Rose Gavilan was the winner in class A; Ruth Holtsberg, class B and Frances West, class C. Other golfers were Ann Witzel, Kola Reid, Lou Duke, Lou Ray Eckert, Maxine Ritter, Mickey Baylis and Louise McCabe. Next week’s play has been can- celled for the holidays and will be resumed on January 4. | Trophies will be presented to the winning team in the tournament | which ran six weeks ending Nov- | ember 30 at a luncheon on Janu- ary 12. | Also to be presented will be the prizes for weekly play. Aida San Miguel, Paul T.M. arquez Are Wed At Latin-American Church t { ‘Miss Aida San Miguel and Paul injp¥essive ceremony at the Latin American Baptist Church T. Marquez were married in an on White Street at seven - thirty on the evening of December 18. ‘The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andres Wan Miguel of 912 Simonton Street. Mr. Marquez’ parents, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Mar- quez, Sr., are residents of New York City. Reverend Ismael Negrin, pastor of the church, performed the cere- mony in the presence of friends and relatives of the young couple before the altar of the church pro- fusely decorated with gladioli and Toses. ‘The traditional wedding marches were played by Miguel Mariscal and John Bennett, soloist, “Because.” if 5 Miss San Miguel was given in marriage by the groom’s uncle and godfather, Benjamin Fernandez. Her white lace wedding gown was fashioned with fitted bodice with a sweetheart neckline. ‘The full gathered skirt swept the floor and her tulle veil was held in place by a small crown. She carried an exquisite arm bouquet of white orchids and a sin- gle strand of pearls was her only jewelry. Helida Blanco, the groom’s aunt, was matron of honor and wore a blue-green net and lace dress with a flower trimmed white hat. Her bou- quet of yellow roses was centered with a chyrsanthemum. The flower girl was the bride’s sister, Frances, who was dressed in pink tulle with multicolored ruf-} fles. Mario Blanco served the groom | as best man. A reception for approximately a hundred guests was held imme- diately following the ceremony at Benny’s Patio. The beautifully deocrated “alta perre” wedding cake was topped | with a miniature bride and groom. The young couple will be at 912 Simonton Street after a two-week wedding trip to Havana. Out-of-town guests at the wed- ding included the groom’s parents. Service Notes Carl Jones Carl L. Jones, son of Mrs. Nettie Hayes, 221-F Poinciana, recently was promoted to sergeant in Ko- rea, where he is serving with the 7th Infantry Division. Men of the “Bayonet” division, the only U. S. Army division now in Korea, are engaged in a com- prehensive training program, in- cluding realistic field problems and maneuvers, Sergeant Jones, a member of the division’s 32nd Infantry Regi- ment. entered the Army in March 1953 and arrived overseas the fol- lowing August. Tomorrow night they will give a Christmas entertainment for pa- tients at the Naval Hospital and have arranged for a band to play through the union. The colored chorus will sing and there will be other acts presented during the two hour show. Santa Claus will make a visit and distribute gifts at this time. CANCELS COFFEE MEETING Because of the holidays, the Fleet Reserve Association Ladies Auxi- liary will not have a coffee meet- ing this month.
